TAMPICO and this web site:

Tampico is a retail store located on Union Street in San Francisco; between Fillmore and Webster Streets. The last time that we did a catalogue was about 25 years ago. Printing a catalogue is not practical unless you are going into the mail order business. The Internet offers us the opportunity to produce a catalogue that should allow you to shop with us without having to visit our store. When you phone us you will be speaking with one of the owners. This site does not have shopping carts in order to keep overhead down. We do not feel that anything that we sell should be an impulse purchase. Most of the things that we are selling on the site are meant to last a lifetime or longer. There is no E-mail address on this site, because we do not have the time to deal with E-mail correspondence, however you can phone or fax us and get instant gratification; I hope.

The Internet is rather slow and the site contains a lot of photos. We have tried to strike a balance between speed and the clarity of the photos.

To order:

Should you find an item that you wish to inquire about please do not hesitate to phone (415-563-3785 phone and fax) during our business hours. Our business hours are 12 noon to 6:30 PM pacific time every day except Wednesday. At all other times the answering machine and fax are on. One of us is often at the store late, and will be glad to assist at those times also.

If you decide that you wish to purchase a particular item :

1. Ordering- Print my order form and fill it out. PAGE 3B.

2. Payment- The only form of payment that we accept is mc, visa, Amex, or diners club.

3. No order form will be considered an order unless it has been filled out in full and signed by the authorized card holder and faxed to my number. You may wish to order by mail, but please note that items can not be held while I wait for your letter to arrive.

4. Returns- If you are not satisfied with your purchase, for any reason, you may return it to us,                              in good condition, within seven (7) days of receipt.

5. Returns- In order to return an item you must telephone, during business hours, to receive a return                       authorization number.

6. Returns- You are responsible for return shipping and insurance costs.

7. Credits- A credit will be issued to your credit card (minus shipping and insurance fees) if the item arrives at  my store in the same good condition in which it was sent to you.

8. Shipping- All items ordered will be shipped within 48 hours whenever possible.

9. Shipping- All parcels will be shipped registered mail by US Post Office   fob San Francisco. Shipping is  $6.00 plus $1.00 for each $100.00 of insurance; the rest of the postage will be absorbed by us.  Those of you who have done mail-order with us probably know that ups is no longer a viable   way to ship precious items.

10. Fed Ex. If you have a Fed Ex acct. number and wish to use it please include it on the order                             form..   Please remember that they do not insure jewelry over 500. US dollars.

11. Gifts- All gifts will be gift boxed and gift wrapped. A card with the appropriate greeting will also be                    enclosed.   There is no charge for gift wrapping.                

12. International shipments will also be sent 1st class insured Air mail via the us postal service.
